Ever wondered how you could become a great webmaster or webmistress? Many have! Well, here are a few explained tips on how to become a great webmaster / webmistress. Of course, its not only on the tips, its on how you act. Read this, apply it, and add more of your sense into it!
Be Friendly
Being friendly attracts people! I certainly would not like to make friends with a webmaster / webmistress who always thinks he / she owns the site and can do anything. Nobody likes a person who thinks that they have the power to control whatever happens that concerns them. So, be friendly to your visitors! You could set up a chat box and chat with them!
Be Truthful
Its true that you have to be a friendly person to make friends, but that does not mean that you have to hide your honesty. If someone asks you what you think of something, then tell them your true opinion in a gentle manner. Also, don't just chat with your visitors to be just "friendly" and to receive more visitors, but to make new friends.
Be Understanding
If a visitor tells you that they do not like something about your site, or are annoyed by it, don't answer them with a rude manner. Instead, ask them what they feel is bad about your site. Tell them that you understand, and that you will truly work hard to meet their needs. Of course, do work hard to meet their needs, don't just say that because you just feel like it!
Be Polite
Don't spread rumors about others in the Pokemon / Anime community. True, many of the webmaster / webmistresses have to go through a phase where they want to talk to some people online about their rumors on other webmasters / webmistresses, and true sometimes it spreads in a negative way around sites, but in the end, what is most important is that everyone had learned a lesson from what happened.
Be In others' shoes
Not like be in their shoes xD Just understand how they feel. If one of your visitor is facing problems, talk to them. Not only do you help them, but you are most likely going to make an awesome new friend! Understand how others feel before making decisions yourself.
Be Yourself
This is the most important part, be yourself. No one would want to become friends with someone who just follows a guide like a machine ;D Sure, take tips from this and apply it, but in the end, you are you!
